Horizons Assisted Living to expand as part of acquisition
New Perspective Senior Living of Minneapolis has acquired the Horizons Assisted Living facilities in Cloquet and Barnum (Minnesota) from owners Donald and Elisa Proulx of Cloquet. The housing communities consist of six facilities serving 59 seniors in need of assisted living or memory care. Plans are underway to develop additional units for assisted living and memory care services in Cloquet and Barnum.
“We are pleased to add these exceptional facilities to our community of senior living homes,” said New Perspective’s President Todd Novaczyk. “The Horizons facilities support our mission of providing safe, secure housing for seniors in a vibrant, community-like environment.”
The acquisition will not affect the approximately 50 employees of the facilities and Elisa Proulx will continue to serve as the administrator.
“It is so gratifying to have New Perspective become part of our communities,” said Elisa Proulx, “Their keen sensitivity for seniors shows in the investments they make for living environments that encompass innovation, safety, respect, good health and fun.”
Novaczyk expects development to begin in October for two new facilities for assisted living and memory care. Each new unit will house up to 15 residents and require an additional hiring of 15-20 employees. Anticipated opening of the new units is spring of 2008.
