The project is expected to take about six months with residents being able to move in this winter.  During construction the Lighthouse will continue to serve the 80-plus seniors who currently call the Lighthouse home, along with their families.

“We’re really excited to be launching this project,” said Todd Novaczyk, CEO of New Perspective Senior Living the operator of the community. “The Lighthouse of Waconia’s foundation rests on the belief that every senior deserves an opportunity to live with purpose and age with dignity. Our passion is to honor the individual by providing the unparalleled, personalized care we are known for. This construction ensures that the needs of a growing senior population are going to be met.”

The project will deliver an immediate boost to the Waconia area’s economy by creating an estimated 50 construction jobs. And once the new space is open, there will be an additional 20 full- and part-time opportunities for nurses and caregivers.

The Lighthouse of Waconia is a New Perspective Senior Living community. New Perspective Senior Living and its affiliates develop, own and operate senior living communities in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa. Founded by Todd and Sherry Novaczyk in 1998, the Novaczyks were inspired to establish a new standard in senior living hospitality by their own experience in caring for Sherry’s mother, Betty, as she suffered through memory loss. Rooted in the firm belief that all seniors deserve attentive, personalized, respectful care so they can live with purpose and age with dignity, they set as their mission to put the resident first in everything we do.
